Elaine Marsha Peters

Elaine Marsha Peters is an educator, advocate, and author committed to helping unique learners discover the joy of reading. For over three decades, she has worked alongside families, schools, and community organizations to improve educational opportunities for children, youth, and adults who learn differently. Her work reflects both professional dedication and personal understanding.

The Heart Behind Reading with Ease

As the parent of a child with moderately severe autism and an intellectual disability, Elaine experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating gaps in traditional reading instruction. Determined to find better solutions, she began developing structured strategies rooted in literacy research and practical application. What began as advocacy for her own child became a carefully designed series that now supports many other learners on their reading journey.

A Credible Voice

Elaine holds an Honors B.A. in Physical Health Education and a Master of Science in Education. Since 1993, she has served as a leader in parent-teacher councils, co-founded a nonprofit organization promoting social inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities, and developed research-based procedural guides through her graduate practicum. The Reading with Ease series reflects decades of literacy research combined with real-world implementation, offering a structured and scaffolded approach designed to strengthen vocabulary, decoding, and comprehension.
